Who Makes Sealmaster Bearings?
Sealmaster is a mounted bearing brand: pillow blocks, flange units, take-up units and hanger units for industrial shafting, the insert bearings that go inside them, mounted roller bearings, and rod ends. It is one of the bearing brands of Regal Rexnord, and this guide states who makes the bearings, what the Sealmaster Gold line is, what the product line covers and how a Sealmaster part number is read.
Who makes Sealmaster bearings?
Sealmaster bearings are made by Regal Rexnord, where Sealmaster is one of the four bearing brands of its Industrial Powertrain Solutions business, alongside Browning, McGill and Rollway. The brand was founded in 1935 and is known for its mounted ball bearing line and its mounted roller bearings. The Sealmaster catalog is bearings: mounted ball bearings, mounted roller bearings, rod ends and spherical bearings, and their accessories.
Before Regal, the same Sealmaster ball and roller bearings were sold by Emerson Power Transmission, in a line that also carried Browning mounted bearings, McGill cam followers, Rollway bearings and the Kop-Flex and Morse couplings; every one of those brands is a Regal Rexnord brand today. The current bearing catalog is shared across the four bearing brands, and we stock the Sealmaster part of it: the full range is on the Sealmaster brand page.
What is the Sealmaster Gold line?
Gold is the name Sealmaster gives its bearing line, and on mounted ball bearings it names a specific platform. A Gold line mounted ball bearing is a self-aligning, Conrad style deep groove ball bearing in a solid cast iron housing, relubricable, with wide inner and outer races, a zone-hardened inner race, black oxide coating, felt labyrinth seals and a land riding metal retainer. It is intended to be slip-fit onto the shaft, has a spherical outer diameter insert that accepts an external misalignment of plus or minus 2 degrees, and supports both radial and thrust loads.
Two locking methods are offered. The setscrew lock places the setscrews 120 degrees apart, uses diamond faceted precision thread setscrews, and is single setscrew as standard with double setscrew available. The Skwezloc concentric locking collar centers the shaft in the bearing bore and secures it with near-perfect concentricity, for quieter operation at higher speeds and simpler installation, and protects the shaft from deep scoring or burring. An exclusive lock pin and dimple system in the insert gives a direct path for lubrication into the bearing and prevents the outer ring from rotating in the housing; the felt seal with flinger balances contaminant entry, GoldPlex HP grease loss and friction. The line is available in standard and medium duty series, where medium duty bearings have larger housings and higher load capacity but lower speed ratings, in inch and metric shaft sizes, and with cast iron, stamped steel or rubber mount housings. The seal, lubrication and environment options are listed in the Sealmaster Gold bearing options guide.
What products does Sealmaster make?
Sealmaster makes mounted ball bearings, ER insert bearings, mounted spherical roller bearings, mounted tapered roller bearings, and rod ends and spherical plain bearings. The mounted ball bearing line covers bores from 1/2 to 4 15/16 inches and 20 to 100 mm in pillow block, flange and take-up housings of cast and ductile iron or stamped steel, with setscrew, double setscrew, concentric and eccentric locking. The series in the table are the standard and medium duty Sealmaster housings.
| Series | Housing style | Duty |
|---|---|---|
| NP | Two bolt pillow block, high base | Standard |
| NPL | Two bolt pillow block, low base | Standard |
| SP | Two bolt pillow block, heavy duty | Standard |
| TB | Tapped base pillow block | Standard |
| MP | Two bolt pillow block, high base | Medium |
| MFP | Four bolt pillow block, high base | Medium |
| MSPD | Two bolt pillow block, heavy duty | Medium |
| MSFPD | Four bolt pillow block, heavy duty | Medium |
| SPM | Two bolt pillow block, heavy duty | Medium |
| SF | Four bolt flange | Standard |
| MSF | Four bolt flange | Medium |
| SFT | Two bolt flange | Standard |
| MSFT | Two bolt flange | Medium |
An NP-10 is the standard duty two bolt pillow block, an SF-10 the four bolt flange and an SFT-10 the two bolt flange, each with setscrew lock and a 5/8 inch bore. They are listed under pillow blocks, square flange units, two bolt flange units and take-ups, and the whole mounted range is under mounted bearings.
Sealmaster Gold ER bearings are the insert on its own: a cylindrical outside diameter with a snap ring for installation in a roll assembly, with the same setscrew or Skwezloc lock, felt seal and flinger, and the ERX-TREME versions for industry specific conditions. An ER-10 is the 5/8 inch bore insert; the range is under insert bearings. Mounted spherical roller bearings cover bores from 1 1/8 to 8 inches in pillow block, flange and take-up housings of cast and ductile iron, with collar or concentric adapter locking, and carry combination radial and thrust loads; a USFB5000-207 is a four bolt flange unit from that line, listed under mounted spherical roller bearings. Mounted tapered roller bearings cover bores from 1 3/16 to 5 inches and 35 to 125 mm with setscrew locking collars; the RPB series uses a double row tapered roller bearing in a self-aligning cartridge and a split cast iron housing, accepts plus or minus 3 degrees of misalignment, and supports higher loads at lower maximum speeds than a mounted ball bearing. A DRPB 203-2 is a tapered roller pillow block, listed under tapered roller pillow blocks. Sealmaster rod ends are three-piece designs with steel and bronze races, mounted by the threads on the shank, for low speeds, oscillation, radial loads and moderate thrust loads; they are under rod end bearings.
Which Sealmaster bores do we stock?
We hold 330 bores across 12of the housing series in the table above, and every one of them below is a link to that unit's product page. Take the housing style from the series table, then the bore from that series' row.

Each number is the bore as the manufacturer prints it in the part number: an inch unit states the bore in sixteenths of an inch, and a three-digit number is a metric unit whose millimeter bore is stated on its own page. The rows list the base part number of each bore we hold — the contact seal, Skwezloc collar, high temperature and reduced maintenance builds of the same bore carry a suffix on the same number, and are listed with the rest of the range under pillow blocks, square flange units and two bolt flange units. A series we hold no base-numbered part in is not listed here.
How is a Sealmaster part number read?
A Sealmaster mounted ball bearing number is the series followed by the bore in sixteenths of an inch: NP-10 is an NP pillow block for a 5/8 inch shaft, NP-16 fits a 1 inch shaft and NP-32 a 2 inch shaft. A T after the bore marks the Skwezloc concentric lock, D marks double setscrew, and a prefix such as E marks an expansion unit. The suffixes that follow name the seal, grease and environment options.
The full prefix and suffix tables are in the mounted bearing nomenclature guide, and the bore suffix for every standard shaft size is in the shaft size conversion chart. When a housing number cannot be read or the original bearing is from a discontinued series, send the shaft size, housing style and application through the support form and we will confirm the current Sealmaster part before you order.
